Friday Morning found us in Ledbury outside the Feathers Hotel in Ledbury, across the street from a 17th century market place.

More personal history of the Feathers Hotel is that it is the honeymooning place of Tim's Mum and Dad.
On the way to Malvern on purple and green backroads. Beware of Toads!

OK, wrong month, we're safe- whew!
Next we stop in Worcester, and wander into this building.

It is The Commandery a building that dates back to the 10th century, where one can:
  • "Be a part of the Jury at Charles I's trial and find out why the Parliament executed him.
  • Listen to the ranting of a Puritan Preacher."
among other English history things.... ;D

More personal history, as Tim's grandad worked in this room, which was a printing office at the time.
One day while they were renovating, these paintings were discovered.
Uncovering the plaster walls, historians came to understand the significance of the building.

Tim shows the museum staff where his grandfather found a hidden closet under the stairs, and inside it, a book from 1649

~.5 MG avi file

Next stop on the north side of Worcester,The Oak Apple Inn for some serious manual reading and assembling of the suction mount windshield (windscreen) camera support.... And a pint.

As we head towards Birmingham, I see another kind of roadster not available in the US. This lovely green MG.

And suddenly there is gaining on us Tom and Dai Maddock in the red Z3 and (help with names?) in the silver.
Just like that is it is a Z3 Ride.
It has officially begun.

Ah well, there is something else that is just like Z3ing at home, that big, wide, the-corners-of-my-mouth-are-stuck-in-my-ears Z3 GRIN!

I didn't see what was happening in the bus until I got home and downloaded the digital photos and saw them on a large screen. Remember, there is no steering wheel on that side of the bus, that guy in front is driving an imaginary Z3, and the two guys behind him are waving like crazy.

Again we were surprised while gassing up to see this dutch trucker jump out of his rig applauding.

In two shakes we were off the highway and passing Lake Windermere into the land of Beatrix Potter.

Driving into Keswick at sunset.

Complicated parking lot payments, Tim stops to get his bearings, balancing his laptop on his headrest and polished stainless steel AC Schnitzer rollhoops

Last ones to the table, fresh off the road, we meet out party of 18 for candlelight supper.
